We are a team with a vested interest in the future of comedy in Tanzania and beyond, starting with the Standup Comedy scene in Tanzania. Evans Bukuku has been on the scene since 2009 and creating Evans Bukuku’s Comedy Club which ran on a monthly basis from December 2010 through 2015.
The platform has given performance opportunities for many Standup Comedians including:
Dogo Pepe, MC Pilipili, Coy Mzungu, Idris Sultan, Mtanga, Dr. Rushwa (Ze Comedy), JK Comedian, Eric Omondi, Basketmouth and many more.
This is the first step in our endeavour to positively effect long-term, sustainable development in the standup comedy arena in Tanzania. It is one of many products under the umbrella ’Ministry of Funny Affairs.’
Punchline Comedy Club is a predominantly English Standup Comedy experience that is far reaching in that it aims to promote standup comedy in Tanzania whilst fostering relations with comics from across Africa and beyond.
